8 Joel Tobeck icon bases (Little Fish)
Joel as the secretively ambitious and kind of murderous Steven in Rowan Woods' Little Fish:

OMG! Thank you!!! I've snagged them all and will credit you when used.

I still think he's hot! LOL And such a great actor! I have yet to see this movie though. Was it good? Has it been released in the USA? I've not noticed it on the shelf. Must look this weekend.

Little Fish is rather sad throughout, but it has a strangely uplifting ending (in spite of what that ending entails). it's a very good movie, very well-acted, and excellent for a sense of urban-suburban-Australia.

and it's definitely available in the US (i rented it from Netflix not too long ago). it was done in 2005, so it's fairly new; still, it should be available at a Blockbuster or similar.

Just got hold of the DVD this week. I think this is the most screen time I've ever seen Joel get, so I enjoyed in on that level, but the script was also really good to all the characters and building them up as individuals. I don't hold out nearly as much cinematic hope for Mee Shee, which was just released to stores in the last few weeks. Wet Joel footage in a long-delayed kiddie film at soon-to-be bargain bin prices; I get the feeling it's going to be good fangirling but bad entertainment.

I definitely cast my vote for a Tobeck community. The participation on the Strife_Lust yahoo group has sadly gone dormant but I know of a least a handful of members who are on LJ and would probably also like an active place to post fanfic and media and have discussions.

ha! Mee Shee ... oh, goodness. words can't really describe. i rented that one from Netflix as well. it's not horrible. definitely good for the fangirling, but probably boring if you're an actual, well, kid ... and i have icon bases from that around here somewhere too.

*sigh* but i would adore some fresh Strife-fics.
